Assorted Goods
Welcome to Assorted Goods, a place for everything that doesn’t quite fit anywhere else. Here, I’ll share a mix of thoughts, experiences, and stories—from the everyday to the unexpected. It’s a collection of whatever’s on my mind, and I’m excited to see where it takes us.
Credentials and Confessions
If I haven’t earned your trust quite yet, that’s okay, I get it. But I’m going to keep showing up and sharing my stories. I'm not a genius who graduated from an Ivy League school or an astronaut with an out-of-this-world perspective. I'm a regular-degular 28-year-old girlie pop who's navigating life as a baby adult just like the rest of you. But I am raw and I am honest. And I hope that is enough.
Signs! Synchronicities! Science?
Picture a scene straight out of a psychedelic cartoon, with me at the helm, channeling the energy of Miss Frizzle—but sexier– and also, I am in a spaceship. AND, instead of rocketing into outer space, I’m venturing into the Milky Way of your brain. Fear not, earthlings– as your woo-woo princess captain, I promise you're in good hands.
Always Kiss the Homies
So here's my promise: I'll always be ready to kiss the homies (whether it's a metaphorical smooch or a literal one – you do you) and celebrate the magic of platonic intimacy. Our friendships are precious, and they deserve all the cherishing, nurturing, and occasional smooching we can muster. Life's too short to hold back when it comes to showing love to the humans who matter most.
Hello from the Other Side (of My Depression)
I'm sharing my story in such detail because I want everyone reading this to understand the stark contrast between the persona a person can project and the thoughts floating in their head. Despite considering myself a generally bubbly person – full of smiles, laughter, and joy – I was simultaneously battling the darkest depths of my own mind, silently hovering my finger over the self-destruct button.
Be More Naked, Feel Less Afraid.
Get naked (emotionally) and relax into the idea that fear is the best friend you never asked for. And while fear may never fully disappear, we can learn to coexist with it, harnessing its power to push us forward into the unknown. I’m picturing fear as a majestic stallion and you as a sexy little jockey.
Arguments Are Awesome! No, Really, They Are.
Do I believe that if this one conversation had taken a different turn, our lives would be drastically altered today? Of course not. But I do acknowledge that this conversation was emblematic of many others we had. We fought over small matters that were symbolic of deeper issues. (Something to consider the next time you are bickering about dishes, texts, or clothes.)
Maggie Rogers, Please Stop Making Me Cry
Whether you're streaming Maggie or not, I want to let you know that you're not alone in this journey. We're all just winging it, and while that can be super fun (have I mentioned my tattoos?), it's okay if you feel scared sometimes. Me too, buddy. Me too.
